New Strategic Project Manager role to win new business

Facilities management services company Romec has appointed Lisa Whittle to the newly-created role of Strategic Project Manager as part of its five-year strategy to increase annual turnover to £350 million.

Lisa has been with the company since June 2007 joining as Business Improvement Manager, where she looked at how to make the company's team structures work more efficiently.

She was previously at AstraZeneca in the Strategic Accommodation & Moves department, where she was part of a team to re-align and organise departmental accommodation.

Lisa, who lives in Macclesfield, is based at Romec's head office in Stockport.

She holds a HND in Business & Information Technology, and holds a "green belt" in the business management strategy Six Sigma, which looks to improve the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing inefficiencies.

Lisa said: "All successful companies have got a clear goal to succeed and Romec's is to achieve £350m in sales turnover, six per cent profit margin and 50 per cent corporate work by 2013.

"The company has got one goal and is going in one direction - but historically employees have worked on lots of different projects across the business which has lead to duplication.

"We have now identified that we need to focus on what we have termed the "Big Wins" which will lead to an improvement in overall performance and will, ultimately, save us money.

"This new role of Strategic Project Manager will see me gain a clear understanding of every project in the business and we have, so far, identified and agreed 15 Big Wins."
