Romec receives commendation at Information Management Awards 2005

Romec has been awarded a special commendation in the 'Mobile Information Award' category at the Information Management Awards held in London last month.

The award was for the development of its paperless integrated mobile service business project, achieved in conjunction with global enterprise software specialists, Geac.

The Information Management Awards are in their tenth year and recognise excellence and innovation in the management of business information across Europe. A panel of 40 independent judges assess entries, with winners selected on the demonstration of real business benefits with substantial and measurable return on investment.

"In 2001 we started using Geac BlueStream to communicate with our 1000-strong network of UK engineers using emerging mobile data systems," said Romec's Sales and Marketing Director, Keith Palmer.

"As technology has advanced, we have worked with Geac to develop ways in which we can integrate the system with other parts of the business such as finance and purchasing, as well as giving our customers access to performance information through secure internet sites. "

"We are continually looking to work with Geac to help improve customer service and to help our customers capture management information that can help them improve their own efficiency."
