Romec Awarded Security Pass

Romec Electronic Security has won a competitive tender to install and maintain site security equipment, as part of a larger project with sister company Raynesway Construction Southern Limited (RCS), at six highway depots across Hampshire.

Whilst both companies are linked to Balfour Beatty - Hampshire based RCS is a wholly owned subsidiary and Romec is 49% owned by the multi-functional construction group - this is the first occasion where they have worked together on a particular project.

National Contract Manager for Romec Tony Bates stressed that winning the contract to supply, install and maintain CCTV cameras and intruder alarms was no walkover and that tough criteria had to be met before the deal was signed.

"It was a very competitive situation and it is good to have won the business in this way. We hope that it signals the start of further similar projects where the specific expertise of our two companies provides a winning combination," said Mr Bates.

Romec have also secured the tender for the installation of additional electronic security systems for four depots and the control centre for RCS in Kent for their InterRoute contract.
