Sainsbury's

The Challenge

sainsburys_131J Sainsbury Plc is one of the UK’s top five food retailers with an annual turnover of over £17,000m and more than 750 stores nationwide. The company has come a long way since its creation in the 1800s by John James and Mary Ann Sainsbury, who opened one small dairy shop in London’s Drury Lane. In 2008 the contract for the installation and maintenance of security systems came up for tender.

The Solution

Having successfully fulfilled Sainsbury’s electronic security requirements through a third party, Romec, in conjunction with Norbain, directly submitted a tender for the nationwide contract.

The Results

Romec has won a three-year £12million contract with supermarket giant Sainsbury’s to install and aintain their security equipment nationally. Under the contract we maintain and monitor all of their CCTV and Intruder Alarms and have been selected as one of two specialist contractors to carry out installation works.

Sainsbury’s were attracted to our ‘partnership’ approach to servicing their portfolio, high service levels ad strong management information systems.

What’s more, dealing directly with us rather than via a third party, supports Sainsbury’s ethos of adding value by achieving ‘better for less’. And allows Sainsbury’s to reduce their costs, and benefit from a much better service. This way of working also gives the company direct access to our reports, via Mobile Data, and the ability to track and manage jobs in real time.
