The Challenge
Marks & Spencer are one of the UK’s foremost high street retailers, with over 100 years’ experience selling a wide variety of quality clothes, food and drink. There are over 450 stores nationwide and the Marks & Spencer brand is recognised around the world. In 2002 the retailer reviewed the way in which their facilities services were managed, and began the search for a partner, who could service their everchanging needs.
The Solution
Supported by six years’ experience working with Marks & Spencer, and against stiff competition, Romec Fire and Security was awarded the contract to install and maintain electronic security systems. This was renewed, with additional services, in 2005.
The Results
Our Service Team quickly established an in-depth knowledge of Marks & Spencer’s systems and requirements to provide effective, economic maintenance with minimal on-site disruption. In addition to creating economies of scale at installations, our expertise in this field has also enabled us to shorten installation and maintenance times providing significant savings. As a result of these successes, we now maintain and monitor fire alarm systems for the Simply Food stores arm of the Marks & Spencer Group. Working closely with Marks and Spencer has created an environment where job requests can be dealt with in a timely manner and with the minimum disruption to the retailer. Our ability to offer real-time, online reporting and complete transparency has also been a key factor in the development of trust and continued contract growth.
