HSS
The Challenge
HSS Hire Service Group is the UK’s largest tool and equipment hire chain. Operating primarily under the banner of HSS Hire, the group has an established network of over 400 outlets and franchise partners in Europe. It has a workforce of 2,300 and a fleet of over 800 vehicles.
Romec’s relationship with the group began as a customer. HSS is a major supplier to Romec who is, in turn, one of their top 10 customers; using a large amount of general engineering equipment and mobile elevated platforms. The challenge was to develop a responsive day-to-day framework between HSS and Romec, that enhanced the way the two companies worked.
The Solution
It was decided that two HSS employees would be permanently based at Romec’s Head Office in Stockport.
This close working relationship resulted in an optimum level of communication between the two companies, leading to a burgeoning relationship. As a result, we took sole responsibility for providing fire & security services to HSS, which included both the installation and maintenance of CCTV and intruder recognition equipment, and fire detection solutions.
The Results
The partnership between Romec and HSS has grown from strength to strength to the benefit of both parties. Our equipment has already proven its worth at a HSS site in Erdington, Birmingham, where CCTV footage of an incident was used to assist the police. In fact, Romec’s expertise in Fire and Security and dedication has since led HSS to approach for further services.
Our print Solutions Group now supply HSS with their corporate printing requirements and our Building Services Group has also refurbished HSS stores around the country.
