Graduate Experience

"I've gained a great deal of experience working at Romec already. For instance, managing my own project which involves going out to meet people from all over the business. It is clearly evident that Romec invest in their people. If you are prepared to work hard and use your own initiative, the rewards are great. The company is going through a large-scale period of change, so it's a really exciting time to work here and be part of this."

Holly Walsh - Graduate Management Trainee (third placement)

"My preconceptions before joining Romec were that I would simply act as a support for my colleagues and pick up experience by watching others in action. However I quickly realised that these were well wide of the mark. Straight from the off I was put in charge of two major projects within the company, one of which meant I had an integral part in the revamp of all mobile data units used by engineers, and the other calculating the carbon footprint for the whole company with an action plan for cutting emissions in the future.

Running these projects has given me excellent experience in linking different areas of the business, working to quantifiable targets and meeting deadlines. I find Romec to have a very friendly working environment and a young and vibrant office. The company has set itself very ambitious goals for the upcoming years and with that will come many positions requiring ambitious individuals."

Neal Grant - Graduate Management Trainee (first placement)

"I joined Romec in September 2008 on a six month secondment from Balfour Beatty WorkPlace.  I have since been working on a number of projects within the Systems and IT departments."

"The projects I have been working on are based around business improvement, improving efficiency and implementing new processes in the organisation. Romec is a great place to work for, with real opportunities.  There is a great structured support network within the business to enable individual and company success.  Romec is a forward facing company with a new exciting future to come."

Kevin Atkinson - Graduate Management Trainee (third placement)
