Case Study: Royal Mail – Local Address Processing Centres

The Challenge


Royal Mail Group own and operate one of the most diverse property portfolios in the UK.  It includes more than 2,000 sites and contains a mixture of mail processing centres, garages, post offices and parcel hubs.

They chose us to help create a number of Local Address Processing Centres across the UK. We needed to complete important refurbishment works and create new processing areas in more than 60 existing sites.  All works had to be delivered with minimum disruption to day-to-day operations.

The Solution


We provided the national management and delivery of M&E installations and building refurbishments.  This included low voltage distribution, mains, data, fire, security, lighting, ventilation and UPS systems, as well as the completion of building works (including internal decoration).

The Results


We completed all 67 projects in just one year.  On top of the savings and efficiencies these areas now provide for Royal Mail, we were able, through our supply chain relationships, to secure preferential discounts and extended guarantees.
