Case Study: Royal Mail – Capital Replacement Programme
The Challenge
Royal Mail Group own and operate one of the most diverse property portfolios in the UK. It includes more than 2,000 sites and contains a mixture of mail processing centres, garages, post offices and parcel hubs.
They chose us to help keep their critical assets and buildings operational. We needed to complete important refurbishment works to maintain key sites and provide world class working environments for Royal Mail employees and visitors. All works had to be delivered with minimum disruption to day-to-day operations.
The Solution
We provided the national management and delivery of M&E installations and building refurbishments. This included the installation of security and building management systems, as well as the completion of building works (including internal and external decoration).
The Results
Originally planned to take one year, unforeseen circumstances meant that Royal Mail asked us to complete the programme in just six months.
We worked with Royal Mail to produce detailed project and resource plans to meet this shortened programme timescale and engaged and managed the right supply chain to hit this target.
