Case Study: British Museum – Terracotta Army Exhibition

The Challenge

The British Museum is one of the most important cultural institutions in the UK.  As part of their First Emperor: China's Terracotta Army exhibition, we supplied and installed a full range of building services.

We needed to prepare the museum’s historic Round Reading Room for its first exhibition and develop an environment that would meet the high standards demanded by the Chinese authorities, who were exhibiting the terracotta army outside China for the first time.

The Solution

We worked closely with the museum’s consultants and equipment specialists and installed services capable of maintaining appropriate environmental conditions, irrespective of load variations from display lighting and variable visitor numbers.

The Results

This was a high pressure project, involving complex and sophisticated building controls, with extremely positive outcomes.

“The British Museum are not only extremely pleased with your work but also thankful that [there was] only minimal disruption to the operation of the museum during the project.”
