About Us

Our History

Romec can trace its roots back to 1989 when it was a division of the Post Office and originally created to provide dedicated facilities and engineering related services to the Royal Mail Group.

  • In 2000, Romec was launched as a fully-fledged facilities management company.
  • In 2002, a joint venture was created between Balfour Beatty Workplace, part of the Balfour Beatty Group, and Royal Mail.
  • In 2013, Balfour Beatty sold its 49% share of Romec to GDF Suez Energy, through its primary brand Cofely.
