About Us

Our History

Romec can trace its roots back to 1989 when it was a division of the Post Office and originally created to provide dedicated facilities and engineering related services to the Royal Mail Group.

  • In 2000, Romec was launched as a fully-fledged facilities management company.
  • In 2002, a joint venture was created between Balfour Beatty Workplace, part of the Balfour Beatty Group, and Royal Mail.
  • In 2013, Balfour Beatty sold its 49% share of Romec to GDF Suez Energy, through its primary brand Cofely.
  • In 2016, Royal Mail acquired the 49 per cent of Romec that it did not already own from ENGIE (formerly Cofely). Romec is now solely owned by the Royal Mail Group.

Our Values

Everything we do is underpinned by our four values of Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence and Respect. Having common values set provides us with an essential framework within which to behave towards each other and our customers.

We always do what is right. Most of our service is delivered by people who aren't constantly supervised - this relies on people always doing the right thing and integrity is the essence of our business.

Everything we do involves teamwork and this doesn't just mean working effectively between product groups, but also with clients and suppliers. It is the magic of our business and continues to open many opportunities.

Excellence provides the opportunity for us to build a great business and win in the marketplace — it is the DNA of our great business.

Our product is our people and to be successful we must always respect each other and those around us - this respect must continue to always be earned.

Safety and Environment

Safety is a top priority and everyone plays a vital part in achieving Zero Harm- we take responsibility for protecting our customer's people, their business and their property.

Environmental Contribution

We aim to enhance and secure the places where people work and ensure that whatever we do helps to reduce the impact on the wider environment.
